4 Small Businesses I'm Shopping This Christmas
Christmas is just around the corner, and many of us have either started shopping or are making our list and checking them twice.
I'm fortunate enough to live in historic Berlin, Maryland, a quaint, eclectic town located 7 miles from Assateague Beach and Ocean City and an hour's drive to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. I am surrounded by antique shops, art galleries, day spas, and home decor shops. Large shops and online shopping are very convenient, but I prefer to buy from local small shops for my holiday gifts.
I've put together 4 of my favorite local shops with online ordering. If you are ever lucky enough to visit the area, these are must-visit shops!
What could be better than a bookstore, natural wine store, and wine bar all in one spot? The Buzzed Word ships books and all non-alcohol merchandise anywhere in the U.S. Supporting small businesses, independent sellers, and used bookshops is easier than ever with online ordering. You don't have to buy books from large, online box stores. The Buzzed Word beach bag or sweatshirt makes excellent gifts. I'm adding the Champagne Necklace and a couple of books to my list this year.
Described on their website as a magical, bohemian wonderland, Eastern Woodland is an eclectic mix of vintage, nature-inspired home decor, plants, and clothing. Entering the shop is like entering an enchanted forest surrounded by beautiful plants, tiny chenille mushrooms, and rustic wooden accessories. The monthly newsletter highlights the new merchandise, so be sure to sign up.
About an hour's drive from Berlin, MD, to Rehoboth Beach, DE, you'll find the Avenue Apothecary & Spa. The spa offers a wide range of treatments and services using all-natural, organic products. The gift sets are my favorite; you can't beat great products packed in a cute bag! If you are in the area, book your favorite services, but if you can't get your favorite spa treatment check out their online shop for all your beauty and wellness needs.
Inner Bloom
This cute little cottage in Ocean City, MD, specializes in fresh & dried floral arrangements for any occasion and carries home decor, candles, and ceramics. If you are in the area, pop in, and you'll find tropical flowers, tiny succulents, and massive monsteras. Check out their online shop for a curated mix of beautiful home decor accessories. I've got my eyes on the scarves and the daisy mug!
